Military Counseling

Service to one’s country is a sacrifice. It shouldn’t come at the expense of mental health.

Along with the regular issues that come up for our military families — like dealing with family separation during deployment, PCS transitions, and daily pressures of military life — we specialize in PTSD and trauma therapy. While we do not accept insurance, we do make an exception for our military families and offer a sliding scale for our military members and also provide SUPERBILLS for your TRICARE reimbursement. It is our honor to serve you. After all, you have done the same for us.

No matter how resilient these honorable families show themselves to be, the ongoing strain of deployment inevitably takes its toll.

TRAUMA THERAPY

Over the last 20 years, our military has been in a continuous cycle of combat deployment, and many service members spend half of their time of duty deployed. Military members are exposed to horrific events while on active duty, and the rates of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety are at an all-time high. Without effective treatment, the relentless symptoms of combat-related PTSD often leads service members to substance and alcohol abuse, and the rate of suicide for military personnel is currently estimated to be twice as high as it is for civilians.

As a military spouse, I GET military life and all of it’s challenges

Military families must accept the absence of a primary caregiver when he or she is deployed for periods lasting from six months to several years or who must start over in a new state, making new friends, building community and enrolling the kids in new schools every time the service member receives PCS orders. Such impactful changes to the family structure and routine can cause instability, resentment, fear and anxiety for all involved.

It is my honor to serve you with the care, respect, and confidentiality you deserve.

For military families, we urge you to reach out and to know that you are not alone. We are here to help you with military counseling.
